The Griffin or the Agate is a business, and as such is interested in generating revenue. As we wish to keep this service free to our readers, that revenue must be generated through advertising. We feel very strongly that all advertising should be fantasy genre related, and we offer several different advertising models.

First are our affiliate programs. We are members of several affiliate programs, from booksellers to fantasy object retailers. Whenever we review a product that is sold by one of our affiliates, we include a direct link to that product. In some cases, we are affiliated with more than one retailer who offers a particular product; in those cases, we provide direct links to all of those retailers. We also provide general links to some of our affiliates' sites on the main section pages, as well as on the front page of the site. Our second advertising model is the small banner ad you see at the top of each page. This is not a page-view or click-through model, but a monthly flat fee of $50 per banner. A maximum of 20 banners per month will be shown in that spot, and they will be shown in random order. We prefer to advertise a specific product or service in that spot, and the banner will link directly to that on your site. If you would like to purchase more than one spot in the rotation, that is acceptable, but no more than two spots per banner will be allowed. Banner size is 300x50 pixels and should be less than 10k in size. Animated banners are acceptable, but we reserve the right to veto a banner that is overly distracting. We would be happy to design your banner for you (an additional one time fee of $75 will be charged for our design services).
