Letter from the Editor

Welcome to The Griffin or the Agate, a site dedicated to all things fantasy. Hopefully you're here by choice and not actually in search of a fetish site or a home for erotic stories. Here at The Griffin or the Agate our aim is to create a place where you can find interesting and up-to-date information about fantasy, the red-headed stepchild of literature, media, and games. Search the web for science fiction and you'll be buried under a blizzard of sites. Not quite so for fantasy, a lamentable oversight we hope to be able to fix. We're currently negotiating with numerous publishing companies, media outlets, and gaming firms to provide us with their products so that we can give you previews, advanced reviews, and release timetables that might not be easy to find elsewhere. In our classics section we'll offer reviews and synopses of older works both well known and obscure to expose you to some things you might have missed otherwise. In the near future we plan to launch "You CAN'T Be Serious," wherein our producer and editor will review the same product and then compare notes (they rarely agree). Message boards will give like-minded fantasy lovers a place to express their opinions about, well, anything they choose. As we grow and demand for more site material becomes too much for our current staff to handle, we may look to hire from the ranks of our loyal visitors.

So, please, poke around. Turn over some rugs. Open a few drawers. Search for that secret door. Tell us what you like, and also what you don't like. Suggestions are welcomed. So are tips, but we're not holding our breath. Enjoy!

C.L. Yona, editor.
